Hiking in Hell Tee

Hells Canyon is the deepest river gorge in North America with roughly 8,000 feet between its lowest point and its highest peak. That’s almost 2,000 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon, and a long way to fall if you take a misguided step. In 1806, Lewis and Clark’s famous expedition reached the edge of Hells Canyon; they turned back without venturing in. Modern tourists should take the same wise approach when deciding to venture into this unforgiving landscape.
